Sunshard — Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 October 2026 · Applies to the Sunshard mobile game

Sunshard is a game. It is played on a phone, it keeps its progress on that phone (and, if you sign in, on our server too), and it sells time and looks through your app store. These terms say what you can expect from it and from us.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By installing or playing Sunshard you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the game. Sunshard is published by BrotherAI ("we", "us"). These terms are in addition to the terms of the app store you installed from.

2. Who may play

You must be old enough to hold an account with the app store you installed from, and old enough to make a purchase there if you choose to. Signing in requires a Google or Apple account under those providers' own rules. Sunshard is not directed to children under 13.

3. What Sunshard is and is not

Sunshard is a single-player arcade game: one-minute runs in which you burn crystals with a spot of sunlight, then spend what you earned on upgrades. In particular:

4. Purchases

The first three regions, the daily challenge and Scorch can be played without paying, with no time limit. Regions 4 to 6, Region ∞ and what follows the last Heart need the Full Game, bought once. Eight things are sold, through your app store: the Full Game, Double Shards, two Sun Mine warps, three lenses and the Supporter Pack. Apart from the Full Game, everything that makes you stronger can also be earned by playing; those purchases only get you there sooner, or change colours.

Payment, receipts and refunds are handled by the store under its own terms. A warp is credited to your game the moment the store confirms it and cannot be restored once used. Double Shards, the lenses and the Supporter Pack can be restored on any device signed in to the same store account, and the Supporter Pack's warp is credited only once. Prices may change; a change never affects what you have already bought.

5. Your data

Your progress and settings are stored on your device. If you sign in, a copy is also kept on our server under your account; what the game sends us is described in the Privacy Policy.

The practical consequence is important: we can only restore what reached the cloud. If you never sign in, or the last sync did not complete, whatever your own device backup does not cover is gone when the game is uninstalled or the device is lost. Saves are never merged. When one account is played on two phones and only one of them has played since the last sync, that phone's save is kept; if both have, the game asks you which save to keep and the other is replaced — so play on one phone at a time. Sun Mine warps and the Full Game you paid for stay either way. The server refuses a save that would overwrite a newer one. Purchases you keep come back with Restore purchases.

6. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the game or its server beyond what your local law expressly permits, and do not attempt to obtain purchases without paying for them, or a cloud save that is not yours. The game and its content (code, artwork, sound, text) are ours and are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use, not sold.

7. Availability and changes

We may change, add or remove features in future versions, including the balance of crystals, upgrades and prices, and we may stop publishing Sunshard. Our server may be unavailable at times and may be discontinued; the game keeps working from the save on your phone, and while your progress cannot reach the cloud it says so on the upgrade tree. If we discontinue the game, the version installed on your device keeps working offline as long as your operating system supports it.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Sunshard is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the game or its server will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the game will run at any particular frame rate on any particular device. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost data or lost progress, arising from your use of Sunshard. Our total liability for any claim relating to the game is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date before the version they apply to ships. Continuing to play after that means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
